Book box inside a proper padded outer, cat wrapped, lantern separately protected so it wasn't swinging about in transit. Nothing chipped. That's not nothing for something ceramic coming a long way.
I don't read much, I just liked the cat. It's on the shelf in the hall over a stack of nothing in particular and it's still the nicest thing there. Don't let the book box put you off.
One cream at one end of the shelf, one black at the other. They look like a pair rather than two of the same thing, because the colours do different jobs against the books.

It turns up in a box made to look like an old hardback, with the moon and the cat on the cover, and I sat looking at that for a minute before I even opened it. Cat's inside nestled in the middle, glowing. I bought it for me and I've since bought two as presents and not wrapped either of them, because you can't improve on the box.
